Might not be about writing but insecure anyway.

I had a surgery on Saturday to remove the gall bladder because I had stones. Although there were more than five (the largest a bit longer than an inch) it turns out none of them were precious stones. Keep looking for those giant diamonds, dwarves!

Honestly, my main insecurity is that my stomach and food don't seem to be getting along as well as expected, despite having hospital type menu. I am not so bummed about the dwarf-size portions I can barely tolerate but about the discomfort that follows and last all day and night. (If it seems I'm pouting, yes. I am.)

Today starts A to Z Challenge and foreseeing the effort was too big for me, I teamed with David Powers King to contribute to his theme. I might feel a bit insecure about my artistic contributions as well, but did I mention I had a surgery? This is the third time I lose a part of my body. Dragon is entitled to feel oversensitive. If you feel like cheering me up, please check up David's theme at the The Cosmic Lair and leave a comment. If you like my artwork, you can leave me gummy bears -no sugar-. If you don't like it, say you love it anyway. Be mindful I'm recuperating here and Father Dragon can stomach little right now. If that is not enough, I have 150 loyal dwarves with axes. ;)

Seriously, David has an awesome theme based on his recently released book, Woven. You won't regret it. I leave you HUGE Dragon Hugs and I'll pay you visits as much as possible.

  2. Hi Al - recover quickly .. or as is reasonably possible - I'm sure you will feel better - just takes time and patience - I guess dragon's don't have much of that .. but you'll be good I know.

David did a great job for you and I loved the drawing ... so relax ... drop back on the pillow and sleep and improve .. cheers Hilary

  3. It is an honor indeed to share your art on my site, Al. Thank you for this a million times over. And if I should find a healing mage in my journeys, I will direct their healing powers to you. Get well, my friend. :)

Your drawing at David's was beautiful.

  5. Rest and relax querido dragon, don't try and do too much or push the eating too much. Can you tolerate Glucerna? When I was so sick a while back it was recommended to me and it was better than not eating at all. Loved your drawing here and the one for DPK. Look forward to seeing more of them. I thought the hospital drawing you did was particularly funny.

  7. Of course I feel like cheering you up! Stones of any kind are not fun, and surgery is the worst! Here's hoping you feel better real soon and wishing you lots of rest and relaxation while you are on the mend.

  9. Oh my goodness! You done such a great job with the artwork. I was so impressed. You may not be able to eat, but you sure can draw.

I hope you feel better soon. I've never had a gall bladder removed, so I don't know how long it takes to heal or what's normal. Might ought to check with your doctor?

  12. I hope your stomach learns its place in the hierachy soon. It should be a slave to you, not you to it.
Off to check out your artwork - but am very sure that it will be, as it always is, AMAZING. AND INCREDIBLE.

  14. My hubby had gallstones, couldn't believe such little things could cause so much pain. I don't know about those dwarf-portions. I hear dwarves eat dragon-like portions. Maybe they are using their axes to cut down their usual fare to share with you?

Teaming up seems a good idea. Be well Dragon Sir.

Ah, if only kidney/gall stones WERE diamonds. Many of us would now be wealthy indeed.

  18. First, the artwork was really amazing (I saw the A post yesterday and commented).

Second, I'm sorry to hear about your gall bladder and the subsequent issues you're now having. If it seems like food and your stomach aren't getting along it may be because they AREN'T. I don't know what you're eating, but I wouldn't eat anything with preservatives in it. Whole foods only. If I was really hurting, which it sounds like you are, I might try eating only vegetables for a while and see if that helps. And a wee bit of fruit. And water. Just water. See if that offers any relief.

I hope you feel better soon!
