Might not be about writing but insecure anyway.
I had a surgery on Saturday to remove the gall bladder because I had stones. Although there were more than five (the largest a bit longer than an inch) it turns out none of them were precious stones. Keep looking for those giant diamonds, dwarves!
Honestly, my main insecurity is that my stomach and food don't seem to be getting along as well as expected, despite having hospital type menu. I am not so bummed about the dwarf-size portions I can barely tolerate but about the discomfort that follows and last all day and night. (If it seems I'm pouting, yes. I am.)
Today starts A to Z Challenge and foreseeing the effort was too big for me, I teamed with David Powers King to contribute to his theme. I might feel a bit insecure about my artistic contributions as well, but did I mention I had a surgery? This is the third time I lose a part of my body. Dragon is entitled to feel oversensitive. If you feel like cheering me up, please check up David's theme at the The Cosmic Lair and leave a comment. If you like my artwork, you can leave me gummy bears -no sugar-. If you don't like it, say you love it anyway. Be mindful I'm recuperating here and Father Dragon can stomach little right now. If that is not enough, I have 150 loyal dwarves with axes. ;)
Seriously, David has an awesome theme based on his recently released book, Woven. You won't regret it. I leave you HUGE Dragon Hugs and I'll pay you visits as much as possible.

I hope you and the food start agreeing soon. Your drawing today for David was awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Al - recover quickly .. or as is reasonably possible - I'm sure you will feel better - just takes time and patience - I guess dragon's don't have much of that .. but you'll be good I know.
ReplyDeleteDavid did a great job for you and I loved the drawing ... so relax ... drop back on the pillow and sleep and improve .. cheers Hilary
It is an honor indeed to share your art on my site, Al. Thank you for this a million times over. And if I should find a healing mage in my journeys, I will direct their healing powers to you. Get well, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your surgery. Take it easy and you will recover.
ReplyDeleteYour drawing at David's was beautiful.
Rest and relax querido dragon, don't try and do too much or push the eating too much. Can you tolerate Glucerna? When I was so sick a while back it was recommended to me and it was better than not eating at all. Loved your drawing here and the one for DPK. Look forward to seeing more of them. I thought the hospital drawing you did was particularly funny.
ReplyDelete*hugs* I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOf course I feel like cheering you up! Stones of any kind are not fun, and surgery is the worst! Here's hoping you feel better real soon and wishing you lots of rest and relaxation while you are on the mend.
ReplyDeleteRest up and feel better soon. *hugs* Your artwork is fantastic. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You done such a great job with the artwork. I was so impressed. You may not be able to eat, but you sure can draw.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. I've never had a gall bladder removed, so I don't know how long it takes to heal or what's normal. Might ought to check with your doctor?
The artwork is awesome, Al! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon. I like the picture of the dragon with this post. You've certainly captured a sense of sadness.
ReplyDeleteI hope your stomach learns its place in the hierachy soon. It should be a slave to you, not you to it.
ReplyDeleteOff to check out your artwork - but am very sure that it will be, as it always is, AMAZING. AND INCREDIBLE.
Sorry to hear that you've been ill. I hope your recovery is going well. I just saw your drawing on David's blog and it is truly amazing. Very artistic. Hope you feel better soon.

My hubby had gallstones, couldn't believe such little things could cause so much pain. I don't know about those dwarf-portions. I hear dwarves eat dragon-like portions. Maybe they are using their axes to cut down their usual fare to share with you?
ReplyDeleteTeaming up seems a good idea. Be well Dragon Sir.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. I'm glad the surgery went well. Poor dragon. Sending you tons of virtual hugs. Your artwork is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your artwork. So sorry you are feeling poorly. I prescribe lots of rest and sugar free gummy bears! *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteThe art is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAh, if only kidney/gall stones WERE diamonds. Many of us would now be wealthy indeed.
First, the artwork was really amazing (I saw the A post yesterday and commented).
ReplyDeleteSecond, I'm sorry to hear about your gall bladder and the subsequent issues you're now having. If it seems like food and your stomach aren't getting along it may be because they AREN'T. I don't know what you're eating, but I wouldn't eat anything with preservatives in it. Whole foods only. If I was really hurting, which it sounds like you are, I might try eating only vegetables for a while and see if that helps. And a wee bit of fruit. And water. Just water. See if that offers any relief.
I hope you feel better soon!
I'm going to David's right now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! Sorry to hear things are so hard for you right now.
Hi, FD,
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope you feel better soon! As for your art... IT IS AMAZING!!!! That is one thing you DO NOT need to feel insecure about!!!!! Take care and feel better soon!
You should make an ear ring out of the big gall stone.
ReplyDeleteI hope they get you straightened out soon, Al. Wishing you a quick recovery. Untethered Realms
ReplyDeleteOh boy! So glad to see you posting, and I do hope the food starts to agree with you sooner than later. I'm hoping over to DPKs now to see today's artwork! Hugs to you Father Dragon

Well, Father Dragon, you are the cutest pouter ever! But don't give up. You'll figure it out. Also, I love your A-Z theme with David. You guys are awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes, please do NOT feel insecure about your art ... it is absolutely amazing - and I'm jealous of DPK getting to work with you for a month!!!
ReplyDeleteHope food and you get along sooner than later !!!
It gets better, Al. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteYour sketches are wonderful!
I told David I'd be sneaking over there this month to see them. :)
Hi! I found your blog by way of Tyrean Martinson. Love your artwork! I hope your stomach straightens out soon. Must be all that dragon fire.
ReplyDeleteLove the artwork. Especially Brooklet (I'm a sucker for a beautiful animal).
ReplyDeleteSorry the stones didn't turn out to be precious gems. Mine weren't either when my gallbladder and I parted company. Feel better.
Aw so sorry to hear that the dragon was down and out. Praying you are on the road to recovery and can eat all your favorite treats again real soon!!!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying your drawings on DPKs blog Father Dragon! Great job! Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
ReplyDeleteIt has been a bit friend since I have been here. I was wondering who drew those pictures, I love them. Great work.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can feel better and yes this is the appropriate time to feel a bit sullen. Sending you good vibes.
Father Dragon, Your artwork is absolutely stunning and has you written all over it. You have such a special gift and God has so blessed me by putting you in my life. Between you and the rest of the Fellowship, I feel like the luckiest woman alive.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being the amazing Dragon you are! Remember that I'm continuing to send you healing thoughts and prayers as you continue to recover. ((((Massive Dragon Hugs)))) Eva
I have a friend who had his gall bladder removed and his biggest complaint is the diet, but hang in there Al. Those diamonds are there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a speedy recovery. I know what it feels like for your stomach to hate everything you put in to it. You have nothing to feel insecure about when it comes to your super cool artwork! I'll pop by to check out David's A-Z!
