Fireworks for The Ghosts of Aquinnah

Dragon can't best the geniality of Michael DiGesu for introductions so I'll just put the lights on the sky for the cover reveal of Julie Flander's second book. No one can best me with fireworks, right? Congratulations, Julie!

Blurb:

A brilliant flash of light transcends through time.

Another freezes a cloaked figure within a frame of salty mist as waves crash against a rocky shore. Her harrowing expression shadows the beacon to a pinprick.

By the next blaze, she is gone. Only the lighthouse remains.

Hannah’s eyes blink in step with each heartbeat. Images of her deceased parents and Martha’s Vineyard explode like firecrackers inside her mind.

She shakes her head.

For weeks this eerie woman dressed in nineteenth century garb has been haunting my webcam, but tonight she stared into my soul.

Why? ...

Who is she? ...

Casting aside months of research on historic lighthouses, Hannah drives to the coast and boards a ferry.

What is the strange connection she has to this mysterious woman suspended in time?

Hannah finds out.

But, it’s not at all what she expects ...

Hannah unravels a century old murder.

Blogger is acting up on me. I'm wondering if it's personal against the dragon or someone else is experiencing problems as well. Comments get eaten, the G+ sharing is not sharing and it is giving me hell sometimes in trying to upload images or videos. Maybe it took offense from the time I said I was quitting blogging, or it just can't stand my overgrown iguana scent. What do you think? Am I alone in this? Should I be worried about the virtual dragon cave crashing on me? Should the dwarves seek for emergency exits? Dragons, parrot and Chihuahua dog first!

  1. Congratulations Julie. More temptation cast in my weak-willed way.
And no, blogger seems to be having a world-wide hissy fit. It is swallowing comments, refusing to upload photos and telling me that my work will not save. I don't think (hope) that it is a quality issue, so I am putting it down to blogger having a tantrum.

Blogger is just having issues I guess. Don't panic. Just tell the dwarves to be on standby.

  5. Hi Al-- love seeing Julie's wonderful book all around-- yay!

I think every social media I use acts up one time or another. Hurrah, I say-- an excuse to take a break from whichever one is having a tantrum. ;)

  7. Looks like a wonderful book. Been having probs with Blogger for a while. I have to go in and ad my headings and such. So I think your virtual cave should be OK but as Alex says, keep the dwarves on alert.

  12. Awesome fireworks for Julie! Great cover and exciting blurb - Michael is a genius! I keep finding via my security software that things malware etc. is trying to invade my computer. Happening way too often, but I'm keeping up on my Security and so far it's working, but yeah the glitches are happening more often. Think it sun spots? Have you seen the northern lights? They are really showing up further and further south!

  17. Yay for Julie! I can't wait until I get my hands on her new book.

Blogger can be so finicky. Some blogs give me more trouble than others, but I don't seem to be having any problems on yours. I clicked on the G+ button and it worked. Hope there aren't any gremlins in your cave!

  18. Beautiful cover, Julie, and very intriguing blurb. Don't worry, Father Dragon - Blogger just gets like that sometimes. I think it feels taken for granted and wants to be noticed.

It takes me 15 to 20 clicks to upload images to Blogger, too, Al. Whatever they changed, they messed it up. : \

  24. How did I miss this? Congrats to Julie! :D
Blogger has regular tantrums. I've learned to take a deep breath. I was on blogger a few years ago, then switched to WP. Now I'm back on blogger and I have to say I'm happier with it. It's easier for me to work on than WP was. The whole internet has fits. Just keep your evacuation plan handy. ;)
