Celebrate the Small Things

Celebrate the small things is the brilliant idea of VikLit. Each Friday we post something we wish to celebrate achieving or doing during the week. It can be writing/reading or life related. You can find the list and join us here.
I made a small modification to the way I do this Meme. Instead of listing what I did during the week, I will  list every week ten things I love about my life. The challenge is not to repeat myself and mention things that meant a vivid joy when I lived them. So here it goes:

1. Awakening the inner child and putting the inner ancient one to sleep.
2. Earning a doctor's white coat with a red nose.
3. Getting to meet the real Patch Adams.
4. Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World.
5. Walking along cobbled streets.
6. A delightful Italian or Mexican meal in good company.
7. Having a drink in the terrace or by a small square in little town, just watching people pass by.
8. Carefree heartfelt hugs.
9. Family shrugging the risk of ridicule to make me smile for the first time in two years.
10. Nessun Dorma (Turandot):
"Dilegua, o notte!               Vanish, oh night!
Tramontate, stelle!              Fade, you stars!
Tramontate, stelle!              Fade, you stars!
All'alba vincerò!                 At dawn I will win!
Vincerò! Vincerò!."            I will win! I will win!

What are you celebrating? You don't have to mention ten. One will do. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. You do more than that. You make me laugh from my heart and that's HUGE for me, you know. Laughter makes me enjoy life and that makes life better, therefore I love it more. Laughing with my heart heals me every day it happens. So basically, I'm saying each time you do that, you're helping me save my life. What else could I need to like you?

  5. Didn't know dragons liked opera. Nessun Dorma is one of the favourites in our house, we particularly like our recording of Pavarotti singing it. Like Alex, I would also enjoy your 6 and 7 together. I hope it isn't really 2 years since you smiled.

    1. I like the three tenors version. It always manage to make me shiver with emotion but it was a longer video. I've done 6 and 7 many times together but I put divided it to make two points of it. (Cheater me)
When family did their trick, yes it was. But that happened in 95. Now I smile or laugh almost everyday. :)

My little celebration runs through this week into next. My eight grade grandson had a band concert last night. Fifth grade granddaughter has hers next Tuesday, and my eighth grade granddaughter and sixth grade grandson both have orchestra concerts next Wednesday. I will be at all of them. How lucky am I to have all my grandkids living that close?

  31. This list was wonderful. I especially liked the part about walking on cobbled streets. I don't know what it is, but I agree that it is a wonderful thing ...to think back on how things used to be in the world and how far we've come ...but how much care was put into things before modern technology has made some things cheaper and less resourceful.
