Celebrate the small things is the brilliant idea of VikLit. Each Friday we post something we wish to celebrate achieving or doing during the week. It can be writing/reading or life related. You can find the list and join us here.
There are many who lose faith on people as a result of what they see, hear and sometimes experience in our daily life. Wars, cruelty, pollution, destruction and indifference; it seems the world is hopeless. I was one of those who had lost faith in people...until I ran into this blogging community.
I don't know any of you in the flesh but I have had the chance to meet many of you in the heart. I have witnessed how you gather like a one-man army to support and help whoever is in dire need. It doesn't matter if you know the man, woman, child (or dragon). You do whatever is in your hand to make your objective feel there's a huge group backing him/her up. Be it by spreading the word, contributing to the cause, standing side by side, buying a book, offering a prayer, befriending someone, you unite and give what is in your power to give and you give a lot. You are awesome persons with a huge heart and I'm a lucky for having witnessed (and experienced) the high human quality in this group.
Today I celebrate I had the chance to meet you, wonderful people. All of you who made me see the goodness of human hearts hasn't gone extinct. It is still out there. It is still practiced even if it doesn't come out in the news nearly as often as nasty things do. I celebrate you're like a group of guardian angels, guarding each other's dreams, hearts and hopes.
I don't know the secret aches in your hearts and I might not be present in your every day life, but I think of you more than you'll ever know. I do pray for you to receive what you need and I also pray that you never let go of each other's hands, because that's your gift and your greatest power.
Have a wonderful weekend and a wonderful life! Remember life starts every instant. Make it better than the previous one.
It is a great community and I celebrate knowing you Al.
ReplyDeleteAmen! Wonderful sentiment, Al. I'm grateful for all those I've met online as well and the genuine hearts they possess.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you described us (have met us in the heart). You summed up the blogging community so well, Al.
ReplyDeletehave some great people and they... some, most have a great respect and return on us all.
ReplyDeleteLovely way to phrase it Al. I too enjoy the blogging community and think they offer wonderful support to each other.

I feel the same way, Al. This community has been such a gift to me. Each unique and special blogger has so much to offer through their support, their experience and yes, even their pain and suffering. I'm so happy to have met you Al, which is why I'm celebrating you today...literally, on my EH blog. You've shared and taught me so much, my friend. Be well, dear man. My best to you always.
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet!!! And to think you told Jess you weren't a writer! You're the best. Huge human hugs to you!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and I applaud this community! It is insanely supportive and I am not sure I would be where I am in my writing endeavors, without the support of fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeleteThis Bird is honored to have met a fire-breathing dragon!
You are right. Life does start at every instant! Make the most of it.
ReplyDeleteI am honored to call you friend and more...uh, all of it good, of course. ;) Like you, I've connected with so many good, accepting, helpful people in this blogging group. People willing to listen and help in many different ways. One thing I've noticed is the openness of writers in particular - an honesty and acceptance not so prevelant in society as a whole. Maybe it's because we lie so much on paper...
So true--we are blessed to be part of this supportive community! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Al .. certainly I celebrate the human kindness, kindred spirit, care and concern of the human being - especially this group that has tentacles around the world ..
ReplyDeleteCheers to you .. Hilary
I'm glad to have met you, Father Dragon. It's obvious you're a very special person, and you certainly enrich this community.
ReplyDeleteOh Al, this was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis human has a big hug for the dragon and the rest of this community. It has truly been a blessing "meeting" everyone and being able to show my support to them and receive it in return. :D
*hugs* Simply beautiful and so true. I'm so thankful for all the wonderful bloggers I've met since I started blogging--and for those I will meet in the future too. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Al! The goodness in people is still there if we look for it.
ReplyDeleteHugs!!! Thank you, Al! I'm celebrating getting to know you too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great take on things. You can always find beauty, in people, things, nature, when you look for it. Just like the beauty we've found here in this blogging life. You are one wonderful dragon!
ReplyDeleteA very good message to pass to all of us. Thank you for writing it.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely worthy of celebrating. I am quite happy I got to meet a Dragon like you and others I have met through blogging make it worth any work I have done to keep it going. It has become a place to find smiles and support and that is priceless.
ReplyDeleteI often take a step back and think how generous, talented and wonderful the people in the on-line writing community are. I feel lucky to have met all of you too. (: Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your heart, Al and I'd even venture to say it's what we all find so attractive about you. :) I love my online writing friends!
ReplyDeleteYou, my good friend, are a wondrous example of the ideals of the power of sharing, caring, encouragement and support. We are all friends in a common cause to see this world become a kinder, more compassionate place. Yes, beyond your computer screen, your "electric friends" provide you with an electronic tonic. Each of us rejoicing in having the profound honour of getting to know you, that hopeful radiant energy on the other side of our screens. Hugs to you, Al and to all these amazing people.
ReplyDeleteIn caring and goodwill,
Gary :)
Aww, Al, that is the sweetest, most touching post ever. And I know just how you feel. It's incredible that the "virtual skyways" have let us all fly far and wide and connect with such generous and talented people. Have a great week! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post... I totally feel the same way with all the wonderful people I've met online too:)
ReplyDeleteOh Al, what a heartfelt post. Whenever I pop in at your place, I leave here feeling enriched!

What a lovely post, very heartfelt. Thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteAl, this is a truly wonderful celebration of probably the biggest thing anyone can experience - human empathy and kindness. There's precious little around and I think that the majority of it is congregated here in this blogging community.
ReplyDeleteRichest Blessings

What a beautiful post, Al. And so spot-on. I feel so fortunate to be part of this community and to have met so many wonderful people (and dragons) like you. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely thoughts and words, Father Dragon. Humans are weak, petty, and jealous. And humans are strong, valiant, and full of love. We're a cake mix of potential for good and bad but, you know, often the cake comes out just right. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSome Dark Romantic
My life has been enriched by getting to know you too Sir.
