Dragons Are Party Animals

Celebration for the victory of San Francisco 49ers turns into a three day party in the Dragon Cave. Dwarves had so much tequila they were seen dancing Conga in their under ware outside the cave. I would have stopped them but I was too busy dancing El Negrito de la Salsa with the Dwarf Cheering Team. I know the Super Bowl is yet to come but there is still reason for big party.

I was branded as a jinx several years ago. My teams always lost, no matter which one I would choose or in which sport. Worst if I dared to bet. A team just needed for me to start cheering on them and like an evil spell, they would go down. It didn't matter if they were the favorites, if they were winning for much, if they were invincible. They would just loose. My jinx touch became infamous everywhere.

Those around me dreaded to hear what team I would cheer for and they actually got mad if they had made any bets on "my team" already. Some started to ask me before betting. OR they would ask me to please "not watch the game" so I would not jinx them. Mother Dragon forbid me to watch any of the 49ers games. It troubled me because they are my favorite team but I obliged. The 49ers seemed to have enough dealing with their own curse.

Fate put me in front of the TV a week ago. I peeked between my claws. I was hiding and praying for the end of our curse. They won, leaving people around me stunned. I watched the game and they won. I was allowed to watch it again last Sunday. We sat together, prayed and watched. I was about to have a heart attack in the last 15 minutes of the game. So much pressure. Gazes were drilling me when they were not glued on the score. I promised the Higher Powers I would do the dishes in the Dragon Cave the whole week if the 49ers win. I could have promised something more meaningful, like a kidney, but I kind of need both. Rest is history.

Yes, dishes are piling up everyday for me to wash but I finally got redemption in exchange. It doesn't matter what happens in the Super Bowl, although I will still cheer for my favorite team. The curse is broken. My days of jinx are over. Now they will spread the word  there is a chance to win!

And to further confirm it, I just received a mail that informed me I had won a book giveaway!! YES!!!

  1. Congratulations on your freedom from sports curse. Truly, it is a victorious day for you and the legions of mutual fans. Our house had its day of mourning a couple of weeks ago when Denver bit the turf.

    1. Yeah, I can relate. Some people won bets thanks to that too and thank me, but I rather be lucky dragon than jinx dragon. :)

  6. I love dragons, so I dig your image here. Are you based in the Bay Area? I'm from the Bay Area, so I think we Bay Areans are all cheering the same thing right now...

Congratulations also on being nominated for the award on Misha's blog.

    1. Truth is I am in Mexico City but the 49ers have a special meaning for me because they were present in a very special part of my dragon life. They are linked to a person whose name is written in gold letters in my heart, forever.
