Baby Face Blog Hop

I just found this in my friend Jeff's blog and tracked it back to learn what it is all about. I thought it's  fun. Not many photographers would be brave enough to take pictures at a dragon hatchling but I do have a story to fill the requirement.

I am the sandwich child. My mother had already given birth to my older brother and she expected the same labor symptoms she had with him. While waiting, she went shopping and then she thought on cleaning the fridge and do some other stuff. Mom has always been very active. So it happened that around 12.00am of a Sunday morning, the water broke before she got all those warning symptoms she was waiting for.

My father picked up my grandmother and along with my mother they dashed for the hospital. My granny was sitting in the back seat and received me on her lap, halfway to the hospital, when my father was passing in front of Chapultepec.

Now you need to know Chapultepec is a very big green area in Mexico City that includes woods, an amusement park and a zoo. The highway my father took passed in front of the amusement park, but it was funnier for the whole family to say it was the one crossing the zoo. It's easy to imagine how many jokes have raised around this.

Some say I was dumped in the monkey cage. Some say my mother exchanged children with the parrots and well, I've practically had a tour around the whole zoo.

In any case, truth is when my father arrived to the Medical Center, a small group of nurses and doctors came out with a gurney. My granny had me in her lap and all her skirt and legs were naturally stained. My mother was just next to her. And guess what? Yes, the medical team took out my granny and put her in the gurney and were leaving my mother behind.

My grandmother just kept yelling. "It's not me! It's her! It's her!"

Legend says my granny let me fall when she received me and I fell on my head, thereof the slight maladjustment in the head. This belief is further enhanced by the fact I got jaundice at the third day of being born. After the whole blood transfusion and treatment, doctors told my mother chances were the same for me to be either blind, deaf, paralytic or crazy.  Well, I have the sight of an eagle, the ear of a fox and the legs of a marathoner, so you know the winner.

    1. Thanks, my granny used to repeat it over and over on each of my birthdays. Also she liked to remind me I owed her a coat and a skirt. :)

    1. Oh, yes. After all, she was married to a baseball player. It was the least she could do, haha. She also did the spanking thing. Again she said not sure if it was a spanking or a smacking. :)

  3. Great story-- definitely good for a chuckle or two. The scales must have been a real mess to clean up afterwards.

    1. Thank you. Oh yes, I got the cleaning costs included in the bill, along with the coat and skirt. I gave them coupons for loving hugs.

  6. I am SO glad you did this! LOVED the story. Loved the fact that they thought granny was mommy. And love your baby picture. Did you draw that yourself?

    1. Thanks! You have no idea how much and how long all the family has laughed at that fact as everyone envisions it in a different hilarious manner. And I must confess no, I am not the artist who drew the pic this time, but the expression is mine hahaha. :)

  7. Best story, so far! Especially the part about them thinking it was your granny.

    1. Thanks, Trisha! You know what they say about the narrow line between geniality and craziness. ;)

By the way, it was an excellent idea on your part. I am still new to blogging and didn't know what bloghop was, hehe. I am just noticing I forgot to include the rules and whose idea was this. Beginners fault but I learn quickly. :)
